What materials are our tablecloths, runners and placemats made from?
Tavarte tablecloths, placemats, and runners are made of high quality polycotton, which contains a higher percentage of cotton. Most importantly, we are proud to say that our products are plastic free. A unique material is applied to our tablecloths, placemats and runners in order to make them wipe clean. This recipe has been developed and perfected over the last 20 years. This material is our little secret and is applied to the products once they have been hand painted. Wipe clean means they are easy to clean with a cloth should you spill certain foods and drinks on them.
So what should I do if I spill food or drinks on my Tavarte product?
Use a mild cleaning solution that does not contain bleach, ammonia or chlorine. In addition, use a soft, wet sponge to wipe the fabric clean. Spray with clean water and dry the surface with a white cotton cloth that will not leave fibre residue on the fabric. Moreover, use a hot steam iron on the reverse of the fabric if necessary. Its that simple.
In short, a wipe clean product makes your life easier! Most importantly, you don’t need to run the washing machine. Our tablecloths, placemats and runners are quick and simple to clean. In addition, by not running the washing machine you save water and electricity making it cheaper. Above all, you are doing your little bit to help save the environment.
However, please note that there are certain products that will not come clean with a simple wipe. For example: candle wax, curry, tea, and coffee.
